Thermocol is a cellular plastic material that is made from polystyrene, a synthetic aromatic polymer. It is produced by expanding polystyrene beads in a mould, with the help of steam. Once the beads expand to their maximum capacity, they cool down and merge to form solid blocks of thermocol.
